@Tommy: about your review of Rhapsody's fantastic 'SOEL II - TDS'.. first, there's an error in the table: the runningtime isn't 49 min., but about 73. Second, sure, maybe there are elements that can be heard on previous albums, but if that's the focus of your attention while listening to the album... It's also not an ordinary audio-cd like other bands' albums, it's more of a unified album. This is more and more diverting towards film music, and that's what they want: making film music. That's why they (Rhapsody, mainly Luca and Alex) call their music now 'Film Score Metal'. Also, there a story behind it (like with the previous albums), but with the narrations, they want to make this story alive. What is missing is the movie. Like Joey
DeMaio said on the DVD: it's everything but the movie. And that's why it needs some listenings to appreciate the effort, to get into the story, etc... Try to read the story in the booklet, it'll help you a lot to imagine how it would be if there were a movie for it and to understand Rhapsody's music.

It's ok if you don't like as much as I do , everony has differents tastes and expectations. Just giving my opinion about it.

About Metal Covenant: great site, I regularly visit it to check up on reviews, to know what's worth the money and what isn't. Keep up the good work.

Kind regards
Tim

Thanks for the feedback, Tim! It's much appreciated, and it's nice to read your closing words too. I will correct the erronous elements as soon as I can :) , but as for the opinion of the album: it still stands. I have listened to it several times the past weeks since having made the review, and my feeling for it is almost exactly the same as what I initially wrote about it. It will never grab a hold of me, and it does not really lift. Mostly due to the fact that there are things missing regarding refrains, melodies and charisma. That I will get a certain style served to me when listening to a new Rhapsody album is pretty obvious, and I don't argue with that really, but with the fact that they sound a bit tired and worn out. Still a good album, though. No doubt about that. :) //Tommy

There has been for a long time this upcoming live reviews part. I am just wondering that U.D.O. has been there for a long time, but I haven't seen a review of their live show yet. I just wonder when it is going to be released?

Reply:
Hi there! Your question is justified. :) The concert took place the past weekend, and the text is ready, but the person doing the review has some problems sending the pictures to me. It will be solved during the coming weekend, though. Stay tuned for that. Also expect more livereviews with more and better pictures in the future, since the staff is going to be expended next week with Gothina from Bulgaria, who will, in addition to a lot of cd reviews, cover liveshows as well. There might also be another (dutch) member added, specifically with focus on live pictures. //Tommy

Hi there! Feedback is as follows: Overall a little bit too soft and sometimes "pop-ish" for my taste, but quite a few great riffs and when you are closing up to the Rammstein sound, it's really good. Try to toughen it all up - it will do you good. All the best, and hope to hear more of you soon. //Tommy (Hey, this almost turned into a mini-review for those who haven't heard it yet.....)

Hey... whats up?
In the "IMPELLITTERI - Pedal To The Metal" review, this part: On the album is even to be found one rap song, but take no serious notice of that fact, since it's mainly making fun of the current metal/rap scene with Eminem and the likes. Still an awesome song, though.
What song is Tommy talking about???
Thanks in advance and rock on!!!

Reply:
Hi there! Well, rap and rap.....the song in question is "Punk" and has more of a hardcore rhytm with rap-like vocals. The lyrics are on the humorous side, as they are the stereotype of the average MTV song nowadays, and is mentioning Eminem and his likes. Good song, though! //Tommy

Just wanted to say thanks for your review of Disexist, from the one of the most exciting new bands to appear in a very long time, This Haven. I strongly agree with your praise of their powerful and captivating sound, and urge all fans of metal, stoner, and prog rock to check out their masterful blend of those styles. I would also like to say that although I agree that Patrick Karlsson’s vocal on “The Fallen” is perhaps his best, I hear a lot of power in his singing on the other two songs as well, particularly when he hits low notes, where he’s at his gritty and aggressive best.
